The assembly

This collection, of great aesthetic and visual impact, presents us with various types of objects, composed of a multiplicity of materials and technical complexity that require a careful eye.

For the museum’s assembly, a planning of the delivery of the pieces was carried out, with the larger items being delivered at 5:30 AM to avoid interfering with traffic.

All transport and assembly actions for the exhibition objects were carried out by specialized companies, with the support of conservators-restorers, ensuring the material integrity of the objects.

Similarly to the building that housed these objects, the collection also benefited from compliance with legal requirements (Framework Law of Portuguese Museums, Law no. 47/2004), including conservation and restoration actions by specialized technicians with legally recognized qualifications, both from the institution’s staff and external personnel contracted for the purpose.

The conservation and restoration interventions were, as required, guided by the adherence to ethical and deontological principles. Also, within the scope of conservation and object security, condition reports were made for all pieces entering the museum, and each was assigned an Inventory number, which was entered into an official database and inscribed in a hidden area of the object in a technically appropriate and reversible manner.
