Cizhou ware
Cizhou ware is an umbrella term used to describe the ceramics manufactured by a large number of kilns across the provinces of north China. While displaying great variety of forms and decoration, they are often described as ‘rustic’, meaning the qualities that are valued are those of vigour, boldness of design, rather than fineness of materials and detail, perfect for daily use.
